Every now and then, Midwest Comfort Homes gets to do a wildly cool electrical services project for a client in the Kansas City area. Recently we did a light fixture installation for a loft customer in downtown Kansas City. What made this project incredibly cool was the light fixtures were imported from Germany.

These light fixtures are made of small plastic pieces and they were shipped in very small boxes full of plastic pieces. It was up to our electrical contractors to piece the puzzle of the plastic light fixtures together and the instructions were in German! Talk about puzzling!

Once we got the light fixtures together (with the help of a very shoddy Google Translate), the fixture installation process began. The ceilings in this loft were 25 feet tall and we had to use 12 foot ladders to get as close to the ceiling as possible. The pictures do not do these fixtures justice. The orange colored fixture is about 8 feet round, meaning we had to very carefully carry the large round fixtures up our 12 foot ladders to hang from 25 foot ceilings and pray we didn’t drop them lest we had to put the plastic puzzle back together again!

This project was an absolute blast to complete! The Kansas City electricians at Midwest Comfort Homes are always up for a challenge and this was definitely a unique challenge to overcome. The end result looks fantastic and we would gladly put the light fixtures together again, even if the instructions were in Chinese!
