Electrical Inspections in Kansas City
Even if your electricity is functioning properly, there may be underlying issues in your home. Faulty wiring or dead outlets might be hiding in your walls. Not only can this cause problems in the future, but it can also pose a threat to your home’s safety.
Midwest Comfort Homes wants your home to be safe which is why we provide electrical inspection and testing services. With our electrical safety inspection, we will take an in-depth look at your home’s electrical system and make sure there is nothing awry. Our electrical inspection checklist includes:
- Electrical Service Panel. We are looking at the age of the panel, any dark or smoky residue, wear and tear, and outdated fuses.
- Interior Outlets and Lighting. We inspect the outlets, light switches, and appliance cords. Our electricians listen for humming noises or switching sounds around outlets as switches as well as look for black smoke and feel for warm spots in the wall. Anything that is loose will be tightened.
- Wet Area Outlets. We pay special attention to the outlets in wet areas, such as kitchens and bathrooms. This is because these rooms should have ground fault circuit interrupters installed and be several inches away from water. These circuit interrupters should also be tested periodically.
- Wiring. There are unique characteristic of each kind of wiring that a home may contain, either knob-and-tube or aluminum, that our certified electricians look for. We look for any sign of poor performance or unsafe conditions and make recommendations on next steps if there is a problem.
